In an interview on BBC Newsnight on Friday 8th November 2019, Former Wrexham MP Ian Lucas accused the government of  repeatedly trying to suppress information about Russian interference into the 2016 EU referendum and UK general elections since 2015. Mr Lucas suggested the government were deliberately preventing the publication of a parliamentary report on Russia because it could embarrass Johnson and Gove who led the 2016 Vote Leave campaign.
