Content Delivery Network

Definition

A content delivery network (CDN) or content distribution network, is a network of proxy servers located in multiple data centres around the world with the aim to minimise the distance between the user and the server with the relevant web content on it. CDNs can improve the speed and availability of web content from the users’ perspective. Amazon’s CloudFront is one of the most popular CDN’s.
