Geometric Progression

Definition

A geometric progression is the process by which a virus (or viral content) becomes an epidemic by rapidly spreading through a population by doubling and doubling again (and continues to double over short periods of time). Such sudden change is at the centre of the idea of the tipping point outlined in Malcolm Gladwell’s book of the same name.

The example below shows what would happen if you recruited 5 people to share an article and each of those 5 people also recruited 5 people and this continued for thirteen levels.
